RTÉ Television has announced full details of its line-up of programmes for the New Year, with new drama, arts, factual, lifestyle and entertainment shows in the schedule.

Two new six-part dramas, 'Rough Diamond' and 'Trouble in Paradise', will be screened on RTÉ One and RTÉ Two respectively.
There will also be a new one-off drama written by Maeve Binchy and two major two-part dramas later in the year.

There will be a new 10-part series of 'Arts Lives', while the acclaimed music show 'Other Voices' will be shown on RTÉ Two.
'Death Duties', a new three-part series, will follow the work of State Pathologist Marie Cassidy, while Alan Gilsenan, director of 'The Asylum', returns with a new documentary series, 'Hospice'.

Among the lifestyle programmes in the new schedule are 'Families in Trouble', 'The Restaurant' and 'Show Me the Money', while the new series 'The Great Escape' will follow four Irish families who set up home abroad.

'The Podge and Rodge Show' will return in the spring while RTÉ Two will also screen the third series of 'Lost'.

Commenting on the new schedule, Noel Curran, Managing Director of RTÉ Television, said: "2006 was a strong year for viewers in Ireland, reflected in significant audience increases for RTÉ Television, and with more home-produced programming than ever before. Spring and early Summer 2007 promises more of the very best from RTÉ Television."
