'Hollyoaks: In The City' star Leon Lopez has reportedly signed up for the new series of 'Soapstar Superstar', following Ben Freeman's withdrawal from the show.
According to Digital Spy, the actor has agreed to sing in the show after it was announced that 'Emmerdale' star Freeman would be stepping down in order to fight a legal battle.
Lopez said: "I am really excited and am looking forward to getting on the stage and performing."
"I'm sure the other contestants are all really talented, but I am looking forward to the competition and would be lying if I said I didn't want to win!"
Executive producer Rachel Ashdown said: "People will know Leon from 'Hollyoaks: In the City' and 'Brookside' before that, and just like our other stars, he has a great voice."
The new series of 'Soapstar Superstar' is due to begin on 5 January.
