Bestselling biographer Kitty Kelley has announced that her next book will be a biography of talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

Kelley is well known for her unauthorised, tell-all biographies of stars and public figures, including Frank Sinatra, Nancy Reagan and the Bush family.

In a statement issued by her publisher, Crown Publishing Group, Kelly said: "Oprah Winfrey has fascinated me for many years - as a woman, she has wielded an unprecedented amount of influence over the American culture and psyche."

"There has been no other person in the 20th century whose convictions and values have impacted the American public in such a significant way."

Amongst some of Kelley's more infamous allegations were that Sinatra and Reagan may have had an affair while she was first lady, and that George W Bush snorted cocaine at Camp David when his father was president.
