A Los Angeles judge has terminated Courtney Love's probation and dismissed three misdemeanour cases from 2005, including two drug-related charges.

The musician and actress emotionally thanked the Los Angeles Superior Court judge Rand Rubin, saying: "Thank you for not taking me into custody. Thank you for giving me an opportunity. You've been a good, fair judge. Sorry for crying."

In September 2005, Love had been sentenced to three years probation for the offences and was ordered by Judge Rubin to complete anger management and drug rehabilitation.

"Courtney stepped up to the plate, turned her life around and is on the road to releasing her new record and hopefully getting hired to act in films," Love's lawyer Howard Weitzman said.
