The MacDonald Brothers - Voted off the show at the weekend

The MacDonald Brothers have said that they are optimistic about future careers in the music business despite being knocked out of 'The X Factor' at the weekend.

Brian and Craig MacDonald, who are both 20, lost out on the public vote after their live performances on Saturday night, leaving Ben, Leona and Ray to fight it out in the semi-final next week.

Speaking after their eviction, Craig said that he was not bothered by the fact that their mentor Louis Walsh had not offered them a record deal, as he did Eton Road when they were eliminated from the show.

Craig said: "Just because he hasn't made it public doesn't mean it's not true."

"We have faith in Louis and we have faith he'll point us in the right direction. We just need to wait and see."

Brian said: "We're over the moon to have come fourth. It's a respectable position and we're really proud of what we achieved."

The singing stars said that they are keen to keep focused on music. Craig said: "We're both single but we're concentrating on our careers now."

"We're not banning girls from our lives but we need to focus on the job and keep striving towards our goals."
