The first three acts confirmed for the Meteor Ireland Music Awards in Dublin next February have been announced.
The Pussycat Dolls, Director and The Blizzards will all play at the awards ceremony in the Point Theatre on Thursday 1 February 2007.
This year's show will be hosted by Podge and Rodge and comic Deirdre O'Kane, with more acts set to be added to the bill in the coming weeks.
18 awards will be presented on the night and the public can now vote in six categories:
Best Irish Male Act
Best Irish Female Act
Best Irish Pop Act
Best Irish DJ
Best Irish Band
Best Live Performance

The Hope for 2007 Award will be voted on by RTÉ 2fm listeners with the remaining awards, except Most Downloaded Song, voted on by Irish music industry representatives.
Tickets for the awards show are on sale now, priced €40; under 16s are not permitted at the event while 16 to 18-year-olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
