Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson has filed for divorce from actress Kate Hudson, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple, who announced their separation in August, married in 2000.

According to court papers filed in the Superior Court, Robinson is seeking shared custody of their son.

Ryder Russell Robinson will turn three in January.

The daughter of Goldie Hawn, Hudson received a best supporting actress Oscar nomination for her performance as a rock groupie in 'Almost Famous'.

Hudson was most recently seen on Irish screens with Owen Wilson and Matt Dillon in 'You, Me and Dupree'.

Chris Robinson, who founded The Black Crowes in 1985, has been performing a series of acoustic dates as a duo with his brother, Rich Robinson.
