Gaffney - Faced trial before he entered camp
Gaffney - Faced trial before he entered camp

Former 'EastEnders' star Dean Gaffney has made a dramatic entrance to the jungle camp on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here'.

The actor was thrown in at the deep end after he was chosen by the public to face a live Bushtucker Trial before even entering the camp and meeting his fellow contestants.

Viewers were told that two new celebrities would be entering the camp in the next two days, Gaffney and Malandra Burrows, who played Kathy Tate in 'Emmerdale'. They were then asked to choose who to send in first.

When Gaffney, who played Robbie Jackson in 'EastEnders', secured the most votes he was told by presenters Ant and Dec that he would be facing a trial, dubbed Bush Spa, live on air.

On being told that he was entering the jungle camp, Gaffney said: "I'm very pleased, I just walked in here, I don't know what's going on. It's surreal."

But the star's delight turned to shock and fear when details of the Bush Spa trial were revealed to him.

He even admitted to being physically sick four times after hearing about the task ahead of him.

Gaffney later looked terrified as he delved into basins of insects, rats and other creatures to retrieve the stars.

However, he managed to get nine stars in total, the highest yet this series, earning a decent meal for his fellow campers.
