With 'Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan' dominating the box office on both sides of the Atlantic, it has been revealed that comedian Sacha Baron Cohen could return as the bungling reporter in a sequel.
Speaking exclusively to MTV News, the film's producer, Jay Roach, said: "We've talked a lot about [a sequel]. We have talked about ideas to try different stuff."
Commenting on the practicalities of making another Borat film, given the character's level of recognition, Roach said: "It's definitely more difficult now, and I don't know if it's even possible to go out into the world, but we have ideas. We're sneaky, clever people."
Roach said that any sequel would follow the structure of the first film.
"It would still be with as much of a long-form story and structure as we can come up with," he said. "It would be a story-based thing that has a whole three-act structure."
"There are always insulated worlds where Borat can go either on this continent or others," Roach added.
