Eliminated 'X Factor' star Nikitta Angus has admitted that it was the right time for her to leave the reality show.
The 18-year-old singer was sent home on Saturday night after Simon Cowell was forced to choose between two of his own acts, when Nikitta and Ray were placed in the bottom two.
Speaking after the result was announced, Nikitta said: "Obviously he has to pick one and to be put in that position is not nice for anyone."
She also said that Cowell approached her after the show and explained his decision. "He just said, 'Don't worry, you did well... it was a great performance and I found it really tough'."
"I feel happy that I can walk away and say that they (the judges) said something nice," she said. "I was so sad and (saying) 'I don't want to leave' but you kind of feel a little weight lifted off your shoulders."
Nikitta also confirmed rumours that she struck up a romance with fellow contestant 4Sure star Jermaine Sanderon.
"Everything's fine. We're just kind of taking it slow," she said. "I asked him to come up the other week, but it depends what his schedule is, so we'll see."
