Victoria Beckham's recent trip to an Oxfam store in the UK has boosted the charity's fortunes.

The former Spice Girl was recently pictured visiting an Oxfam shop in Notting Hill, west London.

According to British newspaper the Daily Mirror, the shop is reporting that clothing donations are up 70% and the number of shoppers has increased three-fold.

Other Oxfam stores across the country have also seen a significant rise in business.

"The impact that Victoria Beckham has had on the store is incredible," said area manager Diane O'Brien.

"We've had some great pieces from Dolce and Gabbana, Stella McCartney and Chanel."

The Notting Hill branch now receives at least 20 bags of donated clothes within the first hour of opening each morning, the charity said.

Beckham dropped into the shop to tell a volunteer he had won a lifetime achievement honour at the Pride of Britain Awards.
While there she also bought a black and white vintage cocktail dress and a book on the history of fashion.
