Hugh Jackman is to star in and produce a spy adventure called 'The Amateur'.
Variety reports that the film tells the story of a CIA cryptographer whose fiancée dies in an air crash.
He discovers that terrorists were responsible and forces his bosses to train him for a revenge mission.
Based on the Robert Littell spy novel of the same name, 'The Amateur' was previously made into a film in 1981 starring John Savage and Christopher Plummer.
The script for the new film will be written by '24' executive producer Evan Katz.
Jackman's new film, 'The Prestige', opens in Irish cinemas today.
