Ex-Corrie actor bailed over firearms

Ex-'Coronation Street' star Nigel Pivaro has been bailed by police in the UK after he was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

Pivaro, 46, who played bad boy Terry Duckworth in the ITV soap, was not present when police raided his home in Salford, Greater Manchester, on Friday.

The officers, who were acting on a tip-off, allegedly recovered a gun and ammunition from two flats.

He was freed on bail after attending a police station on Saturday.
The father-of-two first appeared in Coronation Street in 1983, as the wayward son of Jack and Vera Duckworth.

This year he was awarded a Master's degree in terrorism and international relations. He has quit acting for journalism.
