Former EastEnders actor loses cancer battle

Former 'EastEnders' actor Ross Davidson has died after a battle with brain cancer. He was 57.

The actor, who played nurse Andy O'Brien in the soap, was one of 'EastEnders' original cast members.

Davidson was diagnosed with a brain tumour in February 2005 and later underwent three operations.

He got married three months after his diagnosis.

According to The Sun, his wife Barbara said last night: "He was a great husband, great father and great son. The amazing thing is Ross kept smiling until the bitter end."

Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale in 'EastEnders' said: "Ross was a good man with a great sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye. It’s a great shame he has left us."

Davidson also starred in 'Hollyoaks' and 'Take The High Road'.
