Rocker Pete Doherty has been forced to postpone dates on his current tour with Babyshambles in order to allow himself more time to recover after his drug rehabilitation treatment.
Doherty recently began touring again after finishing his treatment at the Priory Clinic but a record company spokesperson said yesterday the singer would not be continuing with his tour dates.
An EMI spokesperson said: "It has become clear that Peter embarked on this arduous and high profile tour too soon after his discharge and still needs time to recover from his extensive rehab treatment.
"Peter asks that he be given the time and space to continue with his excellent effort to recover. The band apologises to fans but hope that they will understand the importance of Peter being able to best continue his good progress in recovering from addiction," the spokesperson said.
According to media reports, Doherty was seen arguing with on-off girlfriend Kate Moss after a gig in London over the weekend.
