Thousands of fans of the hit series 'Lost' were treated to a preview of the first episode of the third series at the new season's premiere in Waikiki, Hawaii on Saturday night.

The Associated Press reports that the entire cast attended the red-carpet premiere and fans were shown the first episode of the third series, 'A Tale of Two Cities', on a big screen.

The show's producers asked fans not to reveal details of the episode, which premieres on US television tomorrow.

Speaking about the welcome the cast received, Terry O'Quinn, who plays Locke in the series, said: "Believe it or not, this doesn't happen every day. I'm not used to it, but I don't mind it. I've never been to a Hollywood premiere, but can't imagine anything surpassing it."
