Reality television star Anna Nicole Smith has exchanged vows with lawyer Howard K Stern on a boat in the Bahamas, but no marriage licence has been issued.
According to one of Smith's attorneys, Michael Scott, the ceremony was "not legally binding".
"The goal was to exchange vows to reaffirm a commitment they have made to each other. It was also to give them a shot of emotional adrenaline," said Scott.
Smith's son Daniel died suddenly just over two weeks ago. A pathologist, who was hired by the reality television star, concluded that he died from a lethal combination of drugs.
At the time of his death Daniel was visiting his mother at a hospital in the Bahamas, following the birth of her daughter Dannielynn Hope.
