Minogue - London launch

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue took time out from rehearsals for her comeback tour to launch her first children's book in London at the weekend.

Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and forced to cancel the last concerts in her Showgirl tour.

After treatment, she is now in remission and plans to return to the stage in Australia in November.

Her book, 'Kylie: The Showgirl Princess', is about how a character called Kylie becomes a showgirl with the help of a dedicated group of friends.

Published by Puffin, the book went on sale on 21 September in Australia and Britain.

Minogue joins a number of celebrities who have penned children's books, including Madonna's 'The English Roses' and comedian Ricky Gervais and his 'Flanimals' series.
