Singer Katie Melua is today attempting to break the world record for the deepest underwater gig, when she performs on an oil rig in the North Sea.
The singer underwent extensive medical tests ahead of the record bid, set to take place on the Statoil Troll oil rig, which is located more than 300 metres below the surface of the water.
A spokesperson for Melua said: "Kate and her band have undergone full medical examinations and will undertake strict emergency training prior to the event."
The concert is due to be watched by an official adjudicator from the Guinness Book of Records, as well as workers on the oil rig.
