For the first time in Dublin, over one hundred artists will open their studio doors to the public tomorrow, Saturday 30 September.

Seven of the city's largest artists' studio groups will take part in VISIT, which offers the public an opportunity to view creative spaces across the city of Dublin.

The purpose of the event is to promote visual arts to a wider audience and provide insight into the spaces where art is made.

There will also be an opportunity to view new work and to meet artists in situ.

Groups and organisations represented include: Broadstone Studios, Brunswick Mill Studio Complex, Dublin City Council: The Red Stables, Fire Station Artists' Studios, Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA's) Artists' Residency Programme, Pallas Heights and Studios and Temple Bar Gallery and Studios.

John O'Donoghue, TD, Department of Arts, Sport & Tourism welcomed the VISIT initiative, saying: "By inviting people into their own studios for this special event artists are extending an extraordinary invitation to the public; they are to be thanked for their generosity and I can only anticipate a tremendous response."
