Supermodel Naomi Campbell could face arrest after failing to show up in court to face charges of attacking her housekeeper.
Judge James Gibbons of the Manhattan Criminal Court said: "She is absolutely obligated to appear at the next court date or the law will go into effect. A bench warrant will be issued."
The 36-year-old model faces charges of second-degree assault after she was accused of throwing a telephone at her housekeeper, Ana Scolovino, and hitting her on the head.
The supermodel's lawyer David Breitbart said in court: "The press is all over this girl. There are over 100 cameramen outside this courthouse." The judge replied: "They have a right to be here."
The case was adjourned until 15 November when Ms Campbell must appear before the court.
