Country singer Willie Nelson has been charged with misdemeanour drug possession after police seized marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms from his tour bus.
Louisiana Police confirmed that the tour bus was stopped early on Monday morning near Lafayette, Louisiana, for a routine commercial inspection. The state trooper, who stopped the bus, smelled marijuana inside.
State police spokesman Willie Williams said that about 0.7 kg of marijuana and 91 grams of mushrooms were seized from the bus.
Nelson and four other passengers on the bus were cited for possession of drugs and then released.
"There was no trouble whatsoever," Williams said. "They were all cooperative."
