'Superman Returns' star Kal Penn is joining the cast of '24' in a recurring role.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Penn's character "might be the key to a terrorist plot".
Penn also starred in the comedy 'Harold and Kumar Get the Munchies' and will also star in the sequel, 'Harold and Kumar Go to Amsterdam'.
The new series of '24' will debut on US television in January.
