With the third series of 'Lost' set to debut on US TV on 4 October, the cast and crew of the show have revealed a little about what fans can expect in upcoming episodes.

Speaking to the Associated Press at the launch of the 'Lost The Complete Second Season' DVD set in Hawaii on Tuesday night, Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Jin Kwon, said: "I think for every question that's answered, there's another one that's posed, and that's kind of what keeps people coming back."

The show's executive producer Bryan Burk continued: "There'll be a lot of love. There'll be a lot of comedy. But we can never forget that these people are in a very dark place."

Evangeline Lilly, who plays Kate, said of the third season: "This year we've opened this [the series] up to another whole other people, a whole other location, a whole other facet through which we can tell stories."

In one of the storylines involving Kate, executive producer and writer Carlton Cuse said that fans would see Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and Jack (Matthew Fox) competing for her affections.

Michael Emerson, who plays one of The Others in the series, said of the upcoming storylines: "What I know is that we get to go live with The Others, where they learn a little more about their life and, hopefully, their mission, their agenda, whatever that might be. Maybe we'll get to warm up to them."
