Will Ferrell is in talks to star in a new comedy called 'Semi-Pro'.
Production Weekly reports that the film is set in the world of 1970s basketball.
The script for the film has been written by Scot Armstrong, who previously worked on the Ferrell-starring films 'Old School' and 'Elf' and is also working on their sequels.
'Semi-Pro' is due to begin shooting in Minneapolis in February.
Ferrell's new film, 'Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby', opens in Ireland on 15 September.
