The Gipsy Kings will be among a total of 35 acts that will play marquee, outdoor and theatre concerts at Ballybunion's first World Fleadh from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 August.
Other international and Irish acts that will participate in the seven days and seven nights of scheduled events in Co Kerry include The Waterboys, Sharon Shannon, John Spillane, Capercaillie, Declan O'Rourke and Cara Dillon.
The focus of the Festival will be on Irish and Celtic music, song, dance and performances.
The Kilfenora Céilí Band, The Matt Cunningham Band and The Glenside Céilí Band are just three of the bands that will perform at nightly céilithe and there will also be a series of dance workshops and demonstrations throughout the festival.
The World Fleadh 2006 will take place in a specially constructed Festival village in Ballybunion, over looking the Atlantic Ocean. A newly built 550 seated theatre, two domes and outdoor stage setting which will accommodate up to 10,000 people will be used to stage the event.
