Ex-Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes has married his boyfriend of two years, Richard Cullen, in a recent Civil Partnership ceremony in London.
In a personal message posted on his official website earlier this week he revealed that the ceremony had taken place on 19 June.
"I can honestly say it was the happiest day of my life," wrote Hayes.
"I feel lucky to live in an era where my relationship can be considered legally legitimate, and I commend the UK government for embracing this very basic civil liberty."
Hayes, a native of Australia, was previously married to a longterm female friend.
As Savage Garden, singer/songwriter Hayes and producer/multi-instrumentalist Daniel Jones shot to fame in 1995 with the smash hits 'I Want You' and 'Truly Madly Deeply' and 'I Knew I Loved You.'
The duo broke up in 2001 and Hayes released his solo debut, 'Spin', the following year.
