R&B star Usher is to make his Broadway debut playing Billy Flynn in 'Chicago'.
The Associated Press reports that the announcement was made on Friday.
In a statement, the 27-year-old said: "I have always admired Broadway actors for their showmanship, dedication and focus that goes into performing live on stage every night."
He continued: "Being on Broadway allows you to connect to audiences in a whole new way that's different from music and movies."
Usher will take his first bow on 22 August and will star in the show until 1 October.
