Former Boyzone singer Shane Lynch and model Sophie Anderton have become the first couple to be voted into the love shack on 'Love Island'.
Members of the public voted for the pair to spend several days alone together after a first day which saw Anderton reduced to tears on several occasions.
The model was initially upset when she was left to play gooseberry after the other celebrities paired off.
Each of the male stars was asked to select a partner when they arrived on the island, leaving one contestant alone because of the uneven numbers.
'Strictly Come Dancing' star Brendan Cole paired off with former Eternal singer Kelle Bryan, Pierce Brosnan's son Chris picked Paul Gascoigne's stepdaughter Bianca and 'Hollyoaks' star Lee Ottway chose DJ Colleen Shannon.
Lynch, who is now in the love shack with Anderton, initially selected socialite Victoria Hervey as his partner.
The Streets singer Leo Ihenacho was left to choose between models Sophie Anderton and Alicia Douvall, whom he later selected.
Anderton said: "I'm the only lingerie model I know that can't get a date on a reality show. It's quite funny. It's ironic at the best of times."
Anderton later became upset again when she discovered that the couples would be sharing double beds and she was left to sleep in the single bed in front of the door.
After she began to cry again, Lynch offered to swap beds with her, saying that sleeping in the same bed as a woman he had just met went against his principles anyway.
Because she is the singleton of the house, Anderton has also been ordered to clean the house and cook for everybody else.
