'Ally McBeal' star Peter MacNicol is joining the cast of '24' next season.
The Hollywood Reporter says that MacNicol will play a high-ranking government official in the sixth series.
MacNicol played John Cage in 'Ally McBeal'; his other credits include the series 'Numb3rs' (sic) and 'Chicago Hope'.
He will shoot the new series of '24' and 'Numb3ers' simultaneously this autumn.
