Pop singer Kylie Minogue has spoken for the first time about her shock when she discovered that she had breast cancer last year.
In a television interview with Cat Deeley, which is due to be broadcast later this month, Minogue said that her first instinct after her diagnosis was to run away.
"The moment my doctors told me, I went silent," she said. "My mum and dad were with me. We all fell to pieces. I was saying, 'No, I'm getting on a plane'."
The singer recently announced plans to resume her world tour, which was cut short after her diagnosis.
The hour-long interview will be screened as 'Kylie in Her Own Words' on Sky One on 16 July.
