'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' star Mariska Hargitay and husband Peter Hermann are celebrating the birth of their first child, a boy named August.
People magazine reports that the baby was delivered by Caesarean section yesterday in Los Angeles, weighing 10 pounds, 9 ounces.
Hargitay's publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, said: "Mother and baby are doing wonderfully. She is ecstatic, over the moon."
42-year-old Hargitay married 38-year-old Hermann in August 2004.
