The RTÉ Television docudrama 'Stardust' has been shortlisted in the Best Mini-Series category at this year's Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

The two-part docudrama depicts the fire at the Stardust Disco in North Dublin on 13 February 1981, in which 48 people died, and the search for answers and justice by families and survivors.

'Stardust' was made for RTÉ by Brackside Merlin Films and was screened on RTÉ One in February.

Other productions shortlisted in the mini-series category include BBC Two's 'To the Ends of the Earth' and ITV’s 'Elizabeth I'.

The Monte-Carlo Television Festival runs from 27 to 30 June.
