After a successful run in Ireland and Edinburgh, Galway theatre company Druid is taking 'DruidSynge' to the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
'DruidSynge' is a cycle of plays from the works of John Millington Synge.
The centrepiece of this event is the cycle day, when all six of his stage-plays presented together over the course of just one day.
'DruidSynge' will be the opening production of the major new facility at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, one of the largest theatrical arts building projects in the US.
The completion of the facility marks a successful end to a campaign led by Guthrie's Artistic Director Joe Dowling.
'DruidSynge' will also feature at the prestigious Lincoln Centre Festival in New York, opening on 10 July.
'DruidSynge' premiered at the 2005 Galway Arts Festival, opening at the city's Town Hall Theatre in July, and was followed by performances in Dublin and the Edinburgh International Festival before concluding in with a week of performances on the Aran island of Inis Meáin.
Directed by Garry Hynes, assisted by regular collaborators including Francis O'Connor (design) and David Bolger (movement), the productions feature the acting talents of Marie Mullen, Mick Lally, Eamon Morrissey and Catherine Walsh alongside several emerging young stars including Aaron Monaghan and Gemma Reeves.
