'Emmerdale' bosses have revealed that the soap is set for one of the most explosive storylines in years.
According to the show's official website, an upcoming storyline will see disaster strike at the Kings' new housing development, when an explosion causes one of the showhouses to collapse.
A number of characters become trapped inside the house, which catches fire, with rescue workers trying desperately to get them out.
Dawn (Julia Mallam), Danny (Cleveland Campbell) and Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) are trapped in one of the rooms when a ceiling collapse on them, while Sadie (Patsy Kensit) and Jimmy (Nick Miles) fall from a height when the floor gives way underneath them.
According to the report, at least two 'Emmerdale' characters will be killed in the tragedy.
Series producer Kathy Beedles said: "This is one of the most ambitious and dramatic storylines we have ever filmed on 'Emmerdale'."
"Shooting the house collapse has involved specially created effects and a vastly experienced stunt team. It will be tragic moment for the village and no-one will be left unscathed."
The tragic scenes are due to be screened in an hour-long special on 13 July.
