Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz has given birth to her first child, a baby boy.
The star's publicist confirmed that the baby was born was born in New York City, where Weisz and her fiancé filmmaker Darren Aronofsky live.
Weisz's spokesperson Mara Buxbaum said that mother and baby were "happy, healthy, wonderful", but did not reveal any further details of the birth or the name of the baby.
Recent reports have linked Weisz to a role in 'Dirt Music', an adaptation of a Tim Winton novel, opposite 'Brokeback Mountain' star Heath Ledger.
