'Big Brother' housemate Shahbaz has walked from the reality television show house after days of rows with his fellow contestants.

The 37-year-old Glaswegian was reportedly being monitored by psychologists yesterday after threatening to kill himself live on air.

He said: "I am a dead man walking. This is my last curtain call. I came here to die on this programme - I am going to prove it."

The show's producers confirmed reports that Shahbaz had left the house.

A statement said: "Shahbaz has decided to leave the 'Big Brother' house. He was unhappy and finding it increasingly difficult to integrate within the group dynamic of this year's housemates."

"Of course, all housemates are free to leave at any time as they have in past years," the statement said.

Earlier this week Shahbaz was confronted by the other housemates after he stole food from the cupboards while they slept and hid it in a garden bin.

Since entering the house he repeatedly insulted other contestants on the show, claiming yesterday that he didn't care what they thought of him.
