Fearne Cotton has been named as Patrick Kielty's co-host for the upcoming series of 'Love Island'.

The announcement has ended months of speculation as to who would join the comedian on the paradise island show this year, with Liza Tarbuck and Denise Van Outen previously being tipped as favourites to land the job.

According to ITV.com, 'Top of the Pops' presenter Cotton said: "I was hooked on the last series so am really excited that I'm going to be packing up my flip flops and setting off to the sun."

"This time round I won't just be gossiping about the show with my mates, but the whole country," she said.

ITV's Director of Entertainment and Comedy, Paul Jackson said: "I'm delighted that Fearne has agreed to join us for 'Love Island'. She's perfect for the show and I can't wait for her and Patrick's daily reports from paradise."
