Irish author Jamie O'Neill is in the top ten of Britain's favourite gay novels with 'At Swim, Two Boys'.
Ten years in the writing and published in 2001, the award-winning novel is set in pre-Easter 1916 Dublin and is about the developing love between two teenage boys.
'At Swim, Two Boys' has been adapted into a dance piece by groundbreaking English dance company Earthfall.
Armistead Maupin's 'Tales of the City', a six-volume chronicle of life in 1970s San Francisco, was chosen by public vote as the overall winner of the Big Gay Read competition.
Sarah Waters made two appearances on the list with 'Tipping The Velvet' being voted second and 'Fingersmith' sharing fifth place while Jeanette Winterson's 'Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit' came third.
