'Bad Twin' by Gary Troup - a book supposedly written by one of the characters in television series 'Lost' - has become a bestseller in the US.

Troup, whose name is an anagram of purgatory, is one of the victims of the plane crash which leaves the survivors stranded on a desert island.

During the course of the drama, another character finds the manuscript in the wreckage of the plane and reads it.

On the webpage for 'Bad Twin' publishers Hyperion say that the book was delivered "just days before Troup boarded Oceanic Flight 815, which was lost in flight from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles in September 2004. He remains missing and is presumed dead".

The identity of the real author has not been revealed but the publicity surrounding the book has propelled it into the top 20 on Amazon.com's book sales chart.
