Oscar winner Kim Basinger is to make her TV movie debut in a new film called 'The Mermaid Chair'.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the film is based on the best-selling book by Sue Monk Kidd and tells the story of a married woman who falls in love with a Benedictine monk.
The film will premiere on the Liftetime network in the US in September.
Basinger will next be seen on Irish cinema screens opposite Kiefer Sutherland and Michael Douglas in the film 'The Sentinel'; it opens in September.
