The Church - New album out now

Legendary Australian band The Church will play the Village on Dublin's Wexford Street on Saturday 27 May.

This is a special launch for their new album, 'Uninvited, Like The Clouds' (released in Ireland on 14 April) and is one of a select series of European shows on a tour also taking in London, Madrid, Budapest and Hamburg.

From Sydney, The Church burst on to the Australian scene in the early 80s with single 'The Unguarded Moment' and consolidated their success internationally with another single, 'Under The Milky Way' in 1988.

'Uninvited...' is their 14th studio album and is being hailed as their strongest release since the multi-million selling classic, 'Starfish'.

Singer Steve Kilbey is one half of Jack Frost alongside Go Between Grant McLennan, guitarist Marty Willson-Piper was a long-term member of All About Eve and toured for much of last year with fellow Aussie legendary punk band The Saints.

This is only the second time that the full band, which also includes guitarist Peter Koppes and drummer Tim Powles, have visited Ireland.

Tickets are €25 and are available from WAV Ticketbox, Road Records, Soundcellar and Ticketmaster.
