Ewan McGregor and his wife, Eve Mavrakis, have adopted a four-year-old orphaned girl from Mongolia, according to reports in People magazine.
The couple, who are married since 1995, already have two biological daughters: Esther, who is four, and one-year-old Clara.
In 2004, McGregor and his friend Charley Boorman spent three months on a 20,000-mile motorcycle odyssey for the television series 'Long Way Round' and Mongolia was one of the countries that they travelled through.
A spokesperson for the actor told People: "I can confirm Ewan McGregor and his wife Eve Mavrakis have adopted the girl but cannot comment further."
McGregor last appeared on Irish cinema screens in 2005 science fiction thriller, 'The Island'.
