John Stamos, the actor who guest starred in two episodes of the current series of 'ER', will join the medical drama as a regular cast member next season.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Stamos will reprise his role as paramedic Tony Gates, a Gulf War veteran and medical student.
Stamos played the flirtatious Gates in the episodes 'Two Ships' and 'The Human Shield' in the current series; both episodes involved him trying to woo Dr Neela Rasgotra (Parminder Nagra) while she worked shifts on his ambulance.
The actor will appear in 'ER's 13th season from the first episode.
