Soap fans have voted the murder of 'Brookside's evil Trevor Jordache as the Most Dramatic Soap Death in a recent poll.

According to the results of the poll of 4,000 Radio Times readers, the murder of wife-beater Jordache in 1993 was the most dramatic death of a soap character in recent years.

The storyline involved his wife Mandy stabbing him in front of their daughter Beth. The pair later buried him under the patio, only for the body to be discovered three years later.

Viewers voted Richard Hillman's exit from 'Coronation Street' as the second Most Dramatic Death. Hillman drove his car, with all his family locked inside, into a canal.

The death of Ethel Skinner in 'EastEnders' was voted the Most Emotional Soap Death. It involved a euthanasia storyline after Ethel asked friend Dot to help her end her life.

'Coronation Street' topped the poll for the Most Ridiculous Soap Death for its storyline which saw Anna Malone dying after getting locked into a Freshco's freezer.
