Singer Pete Doherty has lashed out at a reporter outside a London court, where he pleaded guilty to possessing heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis.

After leaving the court, Doherty reportedly climbed onto a wall and then kicked a microphone out of a female reporter's hand.

During the hearing at Thames Magistrates Court in London today, the 26-year-old Babyshambles singer admitted to seven counts of possessing illegal drugs.

The case was adjourned until 20 April for sentencing after Doherty's lawyer, Sean Curran, made a request to the judge.

According to the BBC, Mr Curran claimed that the singer was responding well to a rehabilitation programme, which he was ordered to undergo at a separate court hearing last month.

"If Mr Doherty shows the inclination he has had on his first review, the court may look more favourably on him," Mr Curran said.

"It will mean he can continue with the good work he has done under this order. It is still at its initial stages."
