U2 have announced that they have postponed the final Asia-Pacific leg of their 'Vertigo '06' tour due to a family illness.
In a statement on the band's website, tour promoter Arthur Fogel said: "This action is unavoidable due to the illness of an immediate family member of one of the band."
"Any fan of U2 will realise that this decision has not been taken lightly. We will announce further details as soon as we have them," he continued.
U2 were due to begin the 10-date Asia-Pacific leg of their world tour in Auckland on 17 March, with shows in Australia, Japan and Hawaii to follow.
