Moss - Asked to play Dusty Springfield's lover

Supermodel Kate Moss has been approached by 'Brokeback Mountain' director Ang Lee to play a lesbian in his new film, according to reports.

Lee is to direct a film based on the life of legendary 60s soul singer Dusty Springfield with a yet-to-be-confirmed 'North Country' star Charlize Theron in the leading role.

Moss is expected to play a beautiful socialite who was one of Springfield's early lovers and broke her heart.

The film will follow the English singer's life from her birth in North London, through her success and comebacks, to her death from breast cancer in 1999.

A source said: "Kate's the ideal choice to play the love of Dusty's early life. She's beautiful, aloof and she epitomises swinging London."
