Jodie Foster will present Neil Jordan with his honorary award at the US-Ireland Alliance's 'Oscar Wilde - Honouring Irish Writing in Film' ceremony in Los Angeles on 2 March.
Director Jim Sheridan and composer David Holmes are also receiving awards at the event.
Jordan is currently developing a new thriller called 'The Brave One', which will star Foster and 'Hustle & Flow' star Terrence Howard; it is due to begin production this summer.
Among those who will also attend the 2 March event are Cillian Murphy, Fionnuala Flanagan, Damien Rice, Paddy Casey, Adrian Dunbar, Daryl Hannah and Rachel Griffiths.
