The Irish Film Board funded Short Short 'Agricultural Report', directed by Sydney Padua of Irish production company Barley Films, has just won the award for Best Comedic Animation at the International Fest of Cinema & Technology.
The festival, which focuses on new and emerging technologies, toured several cities including New York, London and Paris during 2005.
'Agricultural Report' is a short animated film about the bliss of ignorance and it explores the reactions of a cow to some alarming news on the radio.
The film has screened at seventy-four festivals in thirty countries, winning a total of eight awards along the way.
The Irish Film Board Short Shorts scheme aims to produce ultra short, eye-catching films which can be used to promote Irish film-making by being released in cinemas before full-length features.
Barley Films is currently working on a half-hour animated special for television and is also developing its first animated feature film for production in Ireland.
